{"id":2871,"date":"2025-09-25T11:15:04","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T10:15:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/?p=2871"},"modified":"2025-09-29T11:17:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T10:17:24","slug":"interview-david-torrego-strategic-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/en\/interview-david-torrego-strategic-energy\/","title":{"rendered":"Negrat\u00edn drives hybridisation with storage in Europe and strengthens its pipeline in Spain and Italy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With more than 1.1 GW installed in Spain and 120 MW in Italy, Negrat\u00edn Global Services projects 2\u20133 years of contractual visibility and is preparing its expansion as an IPP, with a strong focus on hybrid projects with batteries.<br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Negrat\u00edn Global Services<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is consolidating its strategy in Europe with a clear shift towards the&nbsp;<strong>hybridisation of photovoltaic plants with storage<\/strong>&nbsp;and a reinforcement of its presence in&nbsp;<strong>Spain and Italy<\/strong>, the two main markets where the company foresees sustained growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn Spain, the market is moving towards hybridisation with storage and the company has secured between two and three years of visibility with EPC and O&amp;M contracts,\u201d states the Managing Director,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/in\/david-torrego-fern%C3%A1ndez-65772715\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>David Torrego Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In dialogue with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/strategicenergy.eu\/\"><strong>Strategic Energy Europe<\/strong><\/a>, Torrego points out that the company has already delivered more than&nbsp;<strong>1.1 GW in Spain<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>120 MW in Italy<\/strong>, with an&nbsp;<strong>expanding pipeline<\/strong>&nbsp;in both countries and an&nbsp;<strong>annual operating capacity of between 600 and 800 MW<\/strong>&nbsp;thanks to the financial backing of new partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Spain, recent projects include&nbsp;<strong>90 MWp in Murcia with ENI Plenitude<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>46 MWp in Badajoz with Matrix<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>30 MWp in Granada with Kobus<\/strong>, all under the modality of&nbsp;<strong>EPC + transmission lines + substation + O&amp;M<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Torrego also highlights that&nbsp;<strong>Italy<\/strong>&nbsp;is emerging as a stronger growth market for the company, not only in EPC but also through its role as an&nbsp;<strong>Independent Power Producer (IPP)<\/strong>, reinforcing the 2025\u20132030 strategic plan that foresees greater direct participation in renewable assets. \u201cWe see stronger growth in Italy and a clear investment opportunity in this market,\u201d he assures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The push towards&nbsp;<strong>hybridisation with batteries<\/strong>&nbsp;appears as a decisive factor in the European strategy. According to the executive, the key in the continent lies in&nbsp;<strong>regulatory maturity<\/strong>&nbsp;that will enable the development of hybrid projects and the scaling up of large-scale storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>integrated in-house EPC model<\/strong>&nbsp;is one of Negrat\u00edn\u2019s differentiating pillars in Europe. The company combines&nbsp;<strong>in-house engineering, grid connection infrastructure, construction and O&amp;M<\/strong>, together with a&nbsp;<strong>digital approach based on digital twins<\/strong>, enabling cost optimisation and efficiency in the construction and operation of plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An additional factor strengthening this strategy is the recent incorporation of&nbsp;<strong>TiLT Capital Partners<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>SWEN Capital Partners<\/strong>&nbsp;into Negrat\u00edn\u2019s shareholding, with the acquisition of&nbsp;<strong>38% of the capital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This move represents a qualitative leap that will allow the company to undertake larger projects as general contractor, accelerate the construction of its own photovoltaic plants and advance its international expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the company maintains a solid financial performance in Europe.
