{"id":2920,"date":"2025-10-07T16:54:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T15:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/?p=2920"},"modified":"2025-11-11T08:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T07:16:21","slug":"interview-david-torrego-energia-estrategica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/en\/interview-david-torrego-energia-estrategica\/","title":{"rendered":"Colombia will remain one of the key growth markets in Latin America"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With over 1.1 GW installed in Spain and 120 MW in Italy, Negrat\u00edn Global Services projects 2\u20133 years of contract visibility and is preparing its expansion as an IPP, focusing on hybrid projects with battery storage.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Spanish company <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.negratin.com\/en\/\">Negrat\u00edn Global Services<\/a><\/strong> projects that <strong>Colombia will remain one of Latin America\u2019s key growth markets<\/strong>, driven by demand for new generation capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/in\/david-torrego-fern%C3%A1ndez-65772715\">David Torrego Fern\u00e1ndez<\/a>,<\/strong> Managing Director of the Energy and Installations Division, highlighted that the country offers significant opportunities for large-scale projects, where the need for additional power positions Colombia as a strategic destination for solar energy investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are closing projects close to 200 MW and see this market as one of the most dynamic in the region,\u201d he told <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.energiaestrategica.com\/\">Energ\u00eda Estrat\u00e9gica<\/a>, <\/strong>noting that solar development will take center stage with limited hybridization, as \u201cthe system\u2019s priority is to increase electricity generation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond Colombia, the company sees a favorable outlook across the region. In <strong>Chile<\/strong>, Negrat\u00edn has built <strong>960 MW<\/strong>; in <strong>Mexico<\/strong>, <strong>683 MW<\/strong>; and in <strong>Peru<\/strong>, <strong>Panama<\/strong>, <strong>Bolivia<\/strong>, and <strong>Honduras<\/strong>, it continues to develop projects that strengthen its footprint in more than <strong>10 countries<\/strong>, with over <strong>4.5 GW of renewable capacity delivered worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, one of the main challenges in Latin America is the <strong>shortage of skilled labor and specialized subcontractors<\/strong>, which drives up costs and delays execution timelines.
