The NEURON-DONES project was designed with the aim of carrying out research to ensure the optimisation and improvement of processes at the IFMIF-DONES particle accelerator (Granada, Spain) in order to make available to the infrastructure, from an early stage, the most advanced technological and industrial trends for its optimal implementation and to advance on the path of fusion as the energy of the future. To this end, NEURON-DONES is based on four fundamental vectors: sustainability, safety, intelligent operation management and data flow optimisation.
NEGRATIN is a member of the NEURON-DONES consortium, together with Orolia Spain, Cuerva Energía, Empresarios Agrupados Internacional (EAI), Enigmedia, Izertis, Plain Concepts and Sener Aeroespacial. Within the project, NEGRATIN is responsible for the development and integration of HYDOR, an uninterruptible power supply system, which aims to change the energy paradigm in Andalusia through the development of advanced technologies and the use of the H2 vector.
HYDOR will consist of a virtual power plant (VPP) that hybridises generation and storage technologies (thermal solar, electrical and hydrogen). This combined system will provide part of the energy consumption required by the facility through renewable energy sources. It will also allow both the regulation of the supply, preventing possible disturbances in the network from affecting the operation of the highly sensitive accelerator equipment, and its autonomy in the event of network failure, ensuring an orderly shutdown of the entire system.
The NEURON-DONES project
